In 2014, following years of consistent rainouts, a group of concerned citizens determined the ball field at Scheve Park need an overhaul in order to increase safety and usability. These individuals formed a 501©(3) corporation, the Mascoutah Athletic Commission (“MAC”) to spearhead a renovation project in Scheve Park. The MAC’s goals were to improve infield and outfield drainage, replace unsafe fences and backstops, upgrade field maintenance equipment, and increase the participation in the various baseball and softball programs. The MAC’s scope has grown throughout the years to other Scheve Park renovations and various community support initiatives.
